Reunion Coming? Vonn Bell Expected to be Released by Panthers
CINCINNATI — The Panthers are going to release safety Vonn Bell according to Joe Person of The Athletic. Could the Bengals go after the veteran?
Bell spent three seasons in Cincinnati, helping the Bengals make it to Super Bowl LVI and back-to-back AFC Championship Games. Now he'll be a free agent just one year after signing a three-year deal in Carolina.
Bell had 69 tackles and one interception in 13 games last season. He made 48 regular season starts (16 per season) in three years with the Bengals, compiling 288 tackles and five interceptions from 2020-2022.
Adding a veteran like Bell could help Dax Hill, Jordan Battle and a young safety room with their communication. He's 29 and still capable of playing at a high level.
A deep free agent safety class just got deeper, which is music to the Bengals' ears.
