Vikings Trade For Bengals First-Round Pick in Peter Schrager's Latest Mock Draft

Cincinnati has plenty of options at Pick 28.

CINCINNATI — NFL Network's Peter Schrager has Cincinnati punting on a first-round pick in his latest mock draft for NFL.com.

The Vikings trade up to No. 28 to select Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.

"The Vikings trade back into the first round," Schrager wrote."Sending the Bengals a third- (No. 87 overall) and fourth-rounder (119) in this year's draft, as well as a second- and fourth-rounder in 2024 -- to land their quarterback of the future. Kirk Cousins is entering the final year of his contract, while Hooker's still recovering from November's torn ACL. The Tennessee product's age (25) isn't as big a potential concern as the college-style offense he operated in."

Bengals fans may cringe at the thought of not picking until the end of the second round, but in a vacuum, it's a great deal for Cincinnati.

Still, they'd miss out on the first 59 picks and be less likely to land a Year-1 contributor.
