Joe Mixon Makes Quick Comment Ahead of Bengals' First Offseason Workout

The 26-year-old attended Monday's voluntary workouts.

CINCINNATI — Bengals running back Joe Mixon has been in the news for the wrong reasons this offseason.

The 26-year-old was charged with aggravated menacing for a January incident that happened in downtown Cincinnati. He was also investigated after a minor was shot near his property in March. Mixon wasn't changed in that incident.

The former Pro Bowler's future was already up in the air going into the offseason. Mixon has a $12.7 million cap it in 2023 and will make over $10 million.

He remains on Cincinnati's roster for the time being, but declined to answer any questions on Monday ahead of the start of the Bengals' offseason program.

"Year seven, back at it!" Mixon yelled as he walked down the hall to the team meeting. "Let's get it!"

The Bengals would save over $10 million in cap space if they released Mixon with a post June 1 designation. They could be waiting until after the draft to make a decision on his future.
