Broncos Stock Report: 5 Risers, 5 Fallers After Packers Loss.

Entering the Denver Broncos' matchup with the Green Bay Packers in preseason Game 2, I highlighted 10 players to watch.

With the Broncos falling to the Packers 30-13, let's examine how each performed and whether they showed what they needed to.

Calvin Throckmorton | OL

Due to an injury to starter Luke Wattenberg and his backup, Alex Forsyth, Throckmorton was the first-team center, and he was one of the few depth players on the offensive line to put together a strong showing. He has taken to playing center, showcasing some versatility beyond just playing guard, and it's paying off.

Stock: Up

Kage Casey | OL

Casey played mostly on the right side of the line, something he hasn't done before, and he had some clear issues. The few snaps he had working on the left side looked really good, so he may be one of those side-specific players who can't flip to the other side.

Stock: Down

Tyler Miller | OT

Miller was the third or fourth right tackle in the game, and he looked solid. He is a toolsy undrafted rookie with a lot of development still to come, but he showed good progress from just a week ago.

Stock: Up

Sai’vion Jones | IDL

Jones was the sixth defensive lineman to take the field, but it came on an obvious passing down; then he was pulled and had to wait a little longer before seeing the field again. It wasn’t a good game for him, as he got bullied in the run game and struggled to create an impact as a pass rusher.

Stock: Down

Tyler Onyedim | IDL

The rookie was quiet against the Atlanta Falcons, but he bounced back with a good game against the Packers. On one of Green Bay's touchdown drives, Onyedim blew up multiple plays in the backfield but wasn’t able to finish before finally stuffing a run.

There wasn’t much as a pass rusher, but he flashed his run defense throughout his time.

Cody Schrader | RB

Schrader is the lowest back on the depth chart, but he once again outperformed Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin. It would be great to see Schrader get some touches earlier in the game, not in the fourth quarter when teams are going to their third- and fourth-stringers, to see if he can still outperform Badie and McLaughlin.

Joseph Manjack | WR

After an impressive game against the Falcons, Manjack wasn’t noticeable against the Packers. With his lack of special teams ability, he could be behind the mark, even when competing for a practice squad spot.

Stock: Down

Red Murdock | LB

Murdock was the fourth linebacker against the Falcons, but was the fifth against the Packers, and he didn’t have the same big splash plays as he did a week ago. Jordan Turner took Murdock's spot as the fourth linebacker, returning from an injury, and he performed well.

Sean Fresch Jr. | CB

What landed Fresch as a player to watch was his performance against the Falcons, and while he had a decent punt return against the Packers, he didn’t have any splash plays. However, for a cornerback, a lack of splash plays is fine when paired with the absence of negatives, and Fresch didn’t have any major negatives either.

Reese Taylor | CB

Now, speaking of splash plays and negative plays, Taylor had a big splash as a run defender, but he had a bunch of negative plays in coverage. He was really struggling to stick with his assignment and gave up multiple big completions, not just in yards but in allowing first downs to be converted.
