According to a report from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Cleveland Browns are releasing veteran offensive guard Michael Dunn.

The move comes as teams are forced to cut their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The move is considered somewhat surprising to many as Dunn appeared to be the top backup to the Browns pair of Pro-Bowl guards in Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller. The corresponding moves to be made will be very interesting to watch play out.

Many have speculated that backup center Nick Harris could be a potential trade or cut candidate. This move would seem to make moving on from Harris unlikely because in addition to guard Dunn has also played snaps at center in his time with the team.

The team already move on from guard Colby Gossett who was released as part of the moves made yesterday. The team still has Wes Martin and Drew Forbes on the roster but Forbes has a back injury that the team has not shed much light on.

To add insult to the injury the Browns made this move on his birthday. The team's social media department had wished him a happy birthday earlier in the day.
