Cardinals Miss James Bradberry After Huge Deal With Eagles

The Arizona Cardinals were potentially looking to add the talents of CB James Bradberry. However, he's returning to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Arizona Cardinals already added a former Philadelphia Eagles defensive piece today in LB Kyzir White, yet a second name has floated around the organization in hopes of bringing over another familiar face for Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis to work with.

CB James Bradberry has been linked with the Cardinals on more than one occasion, yet it appears he'll be heading back to the Eagles according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

He received a three-year deal worth $38 million, which features $20 million guaranteed and another $6 million in incentives according to Schefter:

Though the Cardinals had the cap space to make that happen (north of $30 million heading into today), Bradberry's price tag may have been too much for Arizona's liking considering the current state of the team and their goals for a rebuild.

Bradberry, was previously linked with Arizona before heading back to Philadelphia. All Cardinals' Ryan Sanudo offered more info on the signing:

"Bradberry, 29, made the Pro Bowl with the New York Giants in 2020 but was released in May of 2022 as part of a cost-cutting measure. The Eagles then scooped him up for a one-year deal worth $7.25 million.

"The Eagles have reaped the rewards of signing Bradberry. This season, opposing quarterbacks posted a passing-efficiency rating of 51.6 when throwing to receivers covered by Bradberry, which ranked as the second-lowest in the NFL."

The Cardinals have already lost Zach Allen to the Denver Broncos and could lose their other free agent in CB Byron Murphy.

Marco Wilson is currently the team's top cornerback.
