Budda Baker Tweets Love for Cardinals Fans Amid Trade Request

Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker recently requested a trade from the team, but he wants fans to know he still has love for them.

Things have dramatically gone from bad to horrid in the last 24 hours for the Arizona Cardinals and their fans.

Just 24 hours ago, Budda Baker tweeted out the following before removing his affiliation with the Cardinals out of his bio:

That was last night. Today, it was revealed that Baker requested a trade from the team in what's been a notable offseason for the Cardinals in every way but positive.

ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed Baker told the team back in February to make him the highest-paid safety in the league or move him.

Arizona has yet to do either, and Baker apparently has had enough.

Football is a business, and often times that can include emotions. Cardinals fans have embraced Baker from the moment he was made the team's second-round selection in 2017. He's elevated his play to All-Pro levels since and has established himself as one of the best defensive players in football.

Baker didn't want anything to get minced with his trade request, as he put on Twitter that he still had love for the fans.

Baker (still only 27-years-old) figures to play some of his best football in the coming years. Perhaps he's chasing a bag, or perhaps now he'll shift his focus to potentially winning a championship, something that's not happening in Arizona soon.

In an offseason that's already featured losses such as J.J. Watt, Zach Allen and Byron Murphy, the Cardinals defense looks to take another unfortunate hit.
