Twitter Instantly Reacts to Cardinals Hiring Jonathan Gannon

The Arizona Cardinals have found their next head coach: Jonathan Gannon.

The former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator stayed after Super Bowl LVII here in Arizona and met with owner Michael Bidwill/general manager Monti Ossenfort both Monday and Tuesday before the Cardinals reportedly chose him over Cincinnati Bengals DC Lou Anarumo.

The Cardinals now have their fourth head coach in the last decade after moving on from Kliff Kingsbury, and some aren't sold on Gannon after the Eagles became just the second team in Super Bowl history to blow a double digit lead after halftime.

As a retired reporter, can’t get over Jonathan Gannon not talking after the game. He might never have to explain what happened in the 2nd half, unless a Cards writer asks during his introductory news conference.

Hiring Gannon after this is like hiring Matt Patricia after SB LII.

The Arizona Cardinals just hired someone who couldn't get it done when playing against playoff teams or good QBs the last 2 seasons.

Let's hope he can make up for that by being the leader of men that Michael Bidwill and Monti Ossenfort see him as.

Jonathan Gannon was carried by the roster this season, and he was awful in 2021.

Others aren't trying to hold the Super Bowl against him.

I see people saying the Cardinals should back off Jonathan Gannon b/c the Eagles got beat last night. On what planet does that make any sense? One loss ... to that QB and that coach ... and you'd be out?
