The home of the Arizona Cardinals has been State Farm Stadium since 2006, and has hosted a plethora of the sporting world's biggest games since being constructed.

When first built, the stadium was deemed one of the best in the league thanks to a variety of different technology that included being the first sporting arena in North America with both a retractable roof and roll-out grass field.

Three years ago when The Athletic conducted their initial NFL stadium rankings, Arizona's home was considered to be top ten in the league at No. 8.

In their newest batch of rankings, State Farm Stadium slid to the bottom half of the league before settling at No. 17 with the following short explanation:

"The home of the Cardinals since 2006 fell eight spots from the last ranking. It landed on two ballots as one of the worst five stadiums in the league. State Farm Stadium has hosted three Super Bowls, including February’s game between the Chiefs and Eagles."

The surface at State Farm Stadium was under heavy fire during Super Bowl LVII, with players slipping and chunks of the field coming up on multiple occasions.

Despite that field being an independently grown surface by the league to be used specifically for that game, that wasn't the first time Arizona's field conditions came under fire - the venue is notorious for not having the best playing surface.

It's a fairly friendly atmosphere to watch games, but that could be due to opposing teams infiltrating the nest and typically outnumbering Cardinals fans, at least in recent memory when Arizona hasn't put a formidable product on the field.

U.S. Bank Stadium - where the Cardinals will conclude preseason action on Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings - was voted as the best stadium with SoFi Stadium and Lambeau Field rounding out the top three.

The league's bottom three venues were Hard Rock Stadium, TIAA Bank Field and FedEx Field.
