PFF Pinpoints Why Cardinals Won't be Competitive in 2023

In this story:
There's a handful of reasons why plenty of people don't expect the Arizona Cardinals to be a playoff contender in 2023.
Their 4-13 roster didn't improve much - if at all - while stars such as Budda Baker and DeAndre Hopkins could still potentially depart the team. Add in Kyler Murray's rehab from a torn ACL and it's easy to believe the Cardinals aren't exactly frontrunners for a playoff spot.
PFF says their offensive line is the reason Arizona won't make the postseason:
"The truth of the matter is the Cardinals don’t have a reliable starting quarterback, with Kyler Murray still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in December, and are in the early stages of a rebuild. They have a new head coach and a new general manager who are trying to get their guys in the building — something that takes more than one offseason," said PFF.
"Murray will likely miss significant time as he rehabs, and the Cardinals' lack of trench talent — though the offensive line has more to lean on than the defensive line — makes this a non-playoff-caliber team."
The Cardinals drafted Paris Johnson with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, who should provide a solid presence at either guard or tackle for the future. Day three pick Jon Gaines could be a sneaky impact player for Arizona down the road, too.
When it comes to veterans on the roster, D.J. Humphries and Kelvin Beachum anchor the spots at offensive tackle while Will Hernandez will again start at right guard.
Johnson figures to play his first season at left guard but could potentially kick out after 2023.
As for the starting center spot, that position likely comes down to either Hjalte Froholdt, Gaines or potentially even Lecitus Smith.
