Not much is expected out of the Arizona Cardinals in 2023 - that's pretty easily seen in win totals set by sportsbooks for the upcoming season.

Their projected win total of 4.5 games for this year is the lowest in the league, That's two full games lower than the next batch of teams that includes the Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts.

14 teams have double (9.0 or above) Arizona's win total.

Working under a new coaching staff without names such as J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals also await the return of Kyler Murray from ACL rehab. There's a lot of unknown for the team with little intrigue outside of the desert.

However, Pro Football Focus' simulations have the Cardinals winning six games in 2023, beating out their over/under (and hitting the +100 odds for those who gamble) and not quite finishing with the No. 1 overall pick.

The Cardinals finished at No. 2 behind the Texans, who finished with just under six wins in PFF's simulations. That obviously bodes well for Arizona, who would then have the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals are in the first stages of their rebuild, so immediate success isn't quite on the forefront of everybody's mind. With strong draft capital and some cash to spend after this season, general manager Monti Ossenfort has set up the organization nicely for the future.

However, Jonathan Gannon has been very adamant his team will claw their way in and out of games this season - perhaps PFF's simulations took those into account with six wins on deck in Arizona.
