Chargers News: Former All-Pro Defensive Back's Disbelief at LA's Defensive Strategy

We can't believe it either.

Dismantled and humiliated to the tune of over 500 yards given up on Sunday, one analyst can't believe the Chargers' defense continued to play the Miami receiving corps in one specific manner.

Commenting on the loss suffered by LA, one analyst and a former All-Pro DB himself was shocked at the coverage that the Bolts continued to employ against the Dolphins, specifically on Tyreek Hill.

"Listen, when you turn on Miami's film and you're sitting there as a defensive coach, I don't think you ever get up from that seat and say, 'You know what? This week, we're going man-to-man on Tyreek Hill. You're going mano-y-mano and you're going to shut him down.' That's not gonna happen. I was kind of baffled that the Chargers played just so much one-on-one with Tyreek Hill. No safety over the top. No true double team really. And he made them pay for it, not just early, but all game. 200 yards receiving? I mean maybe he really gets to that 2,000 yards this year. "

Fans were equally dumbfounded after it was evident that J.C Jackson, coming off of a significant knee injury, simply didn't have the speed or capability to keep up with arguably the fastest man in the NFL.

Hill torched LA's secondary all game long as the Dolphins overall diced up the entire Charger defense for a staggering 500 yards of offense in their eventual two-point win against LA.

Tua Tagovailoa outdueled Justin Herbert in a rematch of their December matchup last season as the former Alabama product threw for nearly 450 yards in the victory at SoFi on Sunday.

They say the definition of insanity is constantly trying the same action and expecting a different result. The Bolts' secondary certainly drove their fans crazy in week one with this dumbfounding move.
