One of the biggest storylines this week in the NFL that has yet to be resolved is what team will Austin Ekeler be hitting the field with next season. Obviously, he is still under contract with the Los Angeles Chargers and will continue to be until 2024 but it is clear he wants more than what his current situation there offers.

Unfortunately, as days continue pass, it seems Ekeler isn't going to be too happy with his final outcome. The Chargers definitely don't have much flexibility when it comes to reaching the 27-year-old's desired number and the market as a whole for running backs this offseason hasn't been the best. He very well may remain with the Chargers and re-start these negations next year.

Would that really be in LA's best interest though? There is no denying Ekeler's talent as he was easily the Bolts' top option at his position and added versatility to his game with 722 yards off of receptions. However, just him seeking a trade could hurt his chemistry with the rest of the squad and he took it a step further with some cryptic Instagram captions amidst his initial failed negations with the front office.

Ekeler has continued to be active on social media but now on Twitter, and Chargers fans have been doing their best to break down what his latest posts are eluding to.

Anybody that drafted Ekeler to their fantasy football team last season was in for quite a treat as he was viewed as the consensus best running back with the most value among most leagues. He is very aware of this and hints that he is shooting for this once again in 2023.

This probably wasn't the best time for him to share this with the world as it isn't even clear if he'll be suiting up in powder blue once the games get rolling and, considering how the Chargers' 2022 season ended, fans believe he shouldn't be focused on individual accolades.

Ekeler's tweet just before this one may shed some light on why he is looking for that top fantasy ranking again however.

He shared an offseason hype video that showcased hime doing workouts of every kind at an insane rate. His caption also eludes to him staying locked in and focused on improvement despite all of the questions surrounding his future in the NFL.

It is very likely we'll get some answers soon on whether Ekeler will be traded or not and we'll be sure to keep you guys updated !
