The Chargers wanted to improve their offensive production this season after falling short in the playoffs last year. The team found themselves being stagnant on offense at times and with the talent they have, that shouldn't happen. LA went out and brought in Kellen Moore to be the new offensive coordinator.

Moore spent the last few seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and has been credited with helping quarterback Dak Prescott improve his game. But now Moore has the chance to work with a special player in Justin Herbert and he couldn't be more excited.

Speaking with NFL insider Albert Breer, Moore let his enthusiasm for his new signal caller spill out.

"Yeah, there's some obvious stuff. The biggest thing is obviously his arm talent. But his combination of size, throwing ability, athleticism, I mean, there's only a few on earth that can have that combination, and play at such a high level. It's really fun to see. I was a 6-foot, kind of hanging-on quarterback for six years. And I laugh, there's a few throws sometimes he makes that I say, 'I would never think about trying that throw, but here we are.' It's opened my eyes to some things."

Per Moore

Prescott is a good quarterback but Herbert is on a different level. His ability to sling the ball all over the field has made him into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The pure arm strength and ball placement that he processes makes opposing defenses fearful when he is out on the field.

Herbert also has a ton of weapons to work with like Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Austin Ekeler and new rookie receiver Quentin Johnson. The Chargers should have no problem scoring the ball this season, especially with Moore calling the shots.

This should be a fun year for the Chargers as they have a team loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. Herbert is the leading man but he can't do it alone. LA fully expects to be back in the playoffs this season and will look to avenge their brutal playoff loss from last season. It could be a really incredible year for the Chargers if they can put it all together.
