The Bolts are being hit hard in more ways than one early in the season.

Things haven't gone well for the Chargers to open 2023.

Los Angeles dropped to 0-2 on Sunday after falling to the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans.

And ahead of a suddenly pivotal matchup on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, the injury bug is rearing its head.

Multiple Chargers -- including five impact starters -- were on the team's injury report on Tuesday.

In the case of Ekeler, he figures to be out for a while

The Bolts' starting running back is dealing with an ankle sprain he suffered in their Week 1 loss to the Dolphins, and Joshua Kelley figures to get the start again in his stead against Minnesota.

Chargers EDGE Joey Bosa saw some action last Sunday, and although he was limited, as of now, there's nothing that should keep him off the field this weekend.

Linebacker Eric Kendricks' injury seems to be a more significant concern, as the first-year Charger did not participate in practice Tuesday. Head coach Brandon Staley said there is "no timeline" for the veteran's potential return.

There are two encouraging updates for WR Mike Williams and LB Khalil Mack, though.

Williams was a full participant in practice on Tuesday, while Mack did not practice, although that was because of a rest day and not an actual injury concern.

So overall, it's a mixed bag for the Bolts on the injury front as they head up north to Minnesota, and they certainly need a victory to right their ship after a winless start out of the gate.
