Even though development is still needed for the entire team and they are not Super Bowl favorites, the Los Angeles Chargers have themselves quite the squad heading into next season. Their front office maximized the cap space they had and did their best to round out every part of the roster.

Eric Kendricks was brought in almost immediately when the free agency period began and he will contribute to a defensive line that is already strong. LA was also able to re-sign Donald Parham, Morgan Fox, and Trey Pipkins III. They looked to use majority of their money to retain key pieces that have carved out a role in their organization.

The general reception from the Bolt's fanbase has been fairly good and they have actually been ranked as one of the least toxic communities during free agency this year. It's a general consensus that the Chargers have done a great job thus far and ESPN's Lindsey Thiry doubled down on this, stating that they believe LA only has one more area to improve in.

"Safety. The Chargers let Adderley depart in free agency, and a day later, the 2019 second-round pick announced his retirement. Though Adderley was not part of the plan going forward, the Bolts must fill the hole the three-year starter left behind. Alohi Gilman proved last season that he could step in, but it's unclear whether he is a long-term solution. The Chargers have expressed interest in signing free agent safety John Johnson III, whom the Cleveland Browns released."

Fortunately for the Chargers, all signs point to them bringing in John Johnson III at some point to fill this empty safety role. Rumors were really hot at the beginning of free agency and we all thought the notification would roll through but it has yet to be announced.

Fans have been speculating everyday that it will happen so we will have to see what the situation is looking like in these coming days.

If LA decides against bringing in Johnson III, they could look to bring in a younger prospect from the upcoming draft. Either way, I do believe they will fill this role soon and focus their attention on getting everybody accustomed to their culture.
