Chargers News: Bolts Officially Interview JoJo Wooden For Permanent GM Gig

In this story:
The Los Angeles Chargers are deeply enthralled in the search for their new head coach and general manager. The Spanos family announced that a "wide net" would be cast regarding the next leaders of this team, and they are true to their word.
Multiple HC and GM interviews were requested by the Chargers, though some were denied or would not come to be. However, the Bolts might not have to look far to find their new GM.
Once Tom Telesco was relieved of his duties, assistant GM JoJo Wooden stepped in as interim for the final three games of the season. Out of fairness for the work that he has put in with the organization, the Chargers also announced that he has now interviewed for the vacant GM job.
Wooden has spent many years behind the scenes, serving in scouting and personnel roles with the New York Jets and Chargers.
From 2007-2012 Wooden served as the New York Jets Assitant Director of Player Personnel.
He took that experience further when he was hired by the Chargers to serve as their Director of Player Personnel, a role he held from 2013-2023. The Bolts would be smart in hiring Wooden, as he knows the organization well.
Whoever takes over as GM will have a bit of a mess on their hands, as the Chargers will be around $40 million over the cap and have potential cap casualties to deal with like Mike Williams, Austin Ekeler, and Keenan Allen.
Wooden would be a smart choice as he could have already been thinking of a plan to deal with the many issues the team could be facing in the offseason.
The Chargers are still interviewing candidates, and time will tell if they plan to bring Wooden on as the new GM.
