The Los Angeles Chargers are set to head into 2024 with a brand-new look. The franchise finally decided to dump Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco. Despite the job for GM will be alluring the team's finances might cause a mess for the next person.

As it stands right now, the Chargers are around $40 million over the cap for 2024. That is even worse most of that money is tied to high-profile players.

All these players are theoretically worth the money they are being paid, but Joey Bosa, Mike Williams, and Keenan Allen have dealt with injuries in 2023.

There could be some moves made to restructure player contracts, which is likely what is to happen when the next GM takes over. Players currently on the team will also be heading to FA, which will cut down the cap by millions.

The Chargers might not be in the best place financially, but they do have seven draft picks. They could use those as bargaining chips to get even more picks or to work their way into getting some good FAs.

Chargers front office will need to start from square one it seems when they head into the offseason. However, they do have Justin Herbert to build around, so that should be enough to lure in some huge GM prospects.
