Returning to practice in a big way, Bolts cornerback J.C. Jackson has made staggering progress in his recovery from a ruptured patellar tendon last season.

Seen in a recent practice moving like his old self, many, including Chargers' defensive coordinator Derrick Ainsley, are noticing Jackson's play and are hoping he can return to form for LA's secondary by the time Week 1 approaches.

"The guy is working hard. Today, I think, was the most reps that he has gotten since we started [training camp]. He's feeling good. We're just going to take it day-by-day. He's in a good place physically. We're just going to continue to try to maximize each day, in the classroom and on the field."

Starring for Bill Belichick in New England for his first NFL stint, the Patriots opted not to bring back Jackson during the 2022 offseason.

The Chargers took advantage of this and signed the star corner to a five-year deal to headline their secondary and take their team over the top.

Thus far, it's been a bit of rough sledding for the former University of Maryland standout for his start in Los Angeles.

Suffering from a down year in his first few games in Charger blue and gold, things only got worse for Jackson after the season-ending knee injury sidelined him for the rest of the 2022 season.

Working back to total health, Jackson has made strides in camp and is poised to help the Chargers in another postseason push.

Given the team's loss in embarrassing fashion to the Jaguars in the playoffs, the preseason started off well for Jackson and company.

Beating their in-city rivals in the Rams, another camp standout in, wide receiver Derius Davis, took both names and headlines in his first showing.

Like Davis, Jackson hopes to make his own return to Sofi Stadium one to remember for the 2023 campaign.
