The Los Angeles Chargers have found their guys. Jim Harbaugh is their new head coach, and Joe Hortiz will be their new general manager.

It's a new era in Los Angeles, and these two will be looked at to lead the charge for the Bolts. The Chargers have yet to bring a Lombardi Trophy to the organization, and the hope is these hires help the team move closer to that goal.

Hortiz and Harbaugh will be considered heroes if they lead the Bolts to a Super Bowl victory. They will certainly need to perform like ones, which is why Hortiz is looking to Harbaugh for a seamless partnership similar to those of these iconic DC heroes.

Harbaugh used the Batman reference during his own introductory press conference when discussing power dynamics with Horitz, which has now been confirmed by the new GM.

"Here, my relationship with the GM [Joe Hortiz], I really want to be Robin to his Batman in the offseason. Then when it turns around to the season, I'll be Batman and he'll be Robin. We'll be 'The Caped Crusaders,' man."

"Jim has been on my list," Hortiz said Tuesday during his introductory news conference, per the team transcript. "I've had a couple of chances elsewhere, he's always been at the top of my list as a guy I wanted to work with. We've talked about that. Before I got the interview here, we talked about Batman and Robin. Certainly, that's the way we're going to operate. The only thing is, I'm not wearing tights. I may put a cape on, but I'm not wearing tights.

A Batman and Robin duo-ship may be what the Chargers need to get over the hump. Harbaugh and Hortiz have each experienced success independently; now, they'll look to bind their efforts and do the same for the Bolts.

However, it'll only work if they do it together, and Hortiz realized that.

"That's what it's going to be -- it's going to be a partnership. There's a time for the GM to lead and then, certainly, when we kick it off, that's when the head coach leads and I'm going to do everything that I can to support him and give him everything he needs to win."

The boundaries have been set; soon, it will be time to roll their sleeves up and get to work. The mission in finding the right people for these two vacancies was always to find people who can work together. All signs point to Harbaugh and Hortiz working. We'll find out soon enough.
