Chargers News: NFL Fans Weigh In On LA's Top Head Coaching Target Jim Harbaugh

In this story:
The football world was lit on fire with the news that Jim Harbaugh could potentially leave Michigan to return to the NFL. Even crazier is he was immediately linked to the Los Angeles Chargers, and rumors began spinning about the possibility of his arrival.
The Bolts already interviewed Harbaugh, but cannot make a move to hire him until they abide by the rules of the Rooney Rule. The Rooney Rule indicates NFL teams cannot hire a new HC without interviewing two minority coaches in person.
In-person interviews can begin on Monday, January 22. There is still a strong possibility that the Chargers will be quick to hire Harbaugh shortly after adhering to the rules.
Naturally, social media has been rife with fans discussing why the Chargers need to bring Harbaugh in.
Don’t F this up Spanos. The second the national championship is over. You pick up the phone, and the second Jim Harbaugh says hello you give him whatever he wants. #chargers pic.twitter.com/DIP1MhZQbu

⚡️Fixing the Chargers

1. Hire Jim Harbaugh (let him pick GM)
2. Open up Cap Space by cutting/trading Mack, Bosa, and Williams
3. Sign quality depth along the trenches, RB, and LB
4. Draft best available to fill premium positions with potential top 5 pick
The reasons Jim Harbaugh takes the Chargers job.

1. We aren’t as bad as the draft pick we are getting shows. (Lost 6 games by 3.)
2. A young Herbert in his prime.
3, Harbaugh is a former Charger. It’s poetic.
4. Being the first coach to EVER win the chargers a superbowl. pic.twitter.com/J85YhsACLJ
The Chargers need a new spark, and Harbaugh could be that coach. He is a proven winner and helped turn the 49ers franchise around when he took over in 2011.
The #49ers record before Jim Harbaugh

2007: 5-11
2008: 7-9
2009: 8-8
2010: 6-10
With Harbaugh
2011: 13-3
2012: 11-4
2013: 12-4
If Harbaugh has proven anything, it’s that he can turn things around REAL quick at the NFL level. Would be intriguing for the #Falcons. pic.twitter.com/QzrzAoPXRD
The Chargers have had one playoff appearance in the last five years, and they need a proven head coach who can implement a winning culture. The issue is the Spanos family has whiffed on the last two hires, as both Anthony Lynn and Brandon Staley had zero head coaching experience.
That is not to say that coordinators never become good head coaches, but the Chargers need to try something new this around. That new is bringing in a coach who knows what it's like to lead a team.
Harbaugh has also coached at Michigan for eight years, and that experience is invaluable for the upcoming draft.
Despite social media often being wish lists for fans, they are right on the money in terms of why the Chargers should be jumping at the chance to bring Harbaugh in starting next week.
