Chargers News: NFL Pundit Suggests LA Pursue Trade for Young New York RB

In this story:
Given recent transactions for his current employer in New York, current Jets running back Michael Carter may be the odd man out of the depth chart for the team.
With Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall already on the roster, one analyst suggested possible locations for Carter's services, including a possible trade to Los Angeles to back up their superstar Austin Ekeler.
Much like the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Chargers have a proven stud in Austin Ekeler and absolutely nothing behind him. Joshua Kelly and Isaiah Spiller have both disappointed with their limited touches, and Elijah Dotson is too unproven to earn a major role this early in the season. Given the Chargers’ propensity for throwing to the running back combined with Austin Ekeler’s impending free agency, a Michael Carter trade makes all the sense in the world.

Cook's signing was brewing for a while, but after drafting Breece Hall last season and signing the former Viking this year, Carter may be the odd man out struggling to find carries.
Should the young back want another opportunity for an expanded role elsewhere in the league, the Charger backfield is looking for any takers to help lessen the load on Ekeler's shoulders.
The league's leader in touchdowns for the past two seasons at any skill position. Ekeler isn't getting any younger and already has plenty of miles on his body with his pass-catching and carrying responsibility out of the backfield.
In Kellen Moore's offense, any and all depth would be welcome to help Justin Herbert flourish into an even bigger young superstar than he already is.
Adding Carter to an already potent skill position group at SoFi Stadium would only help the Bolts' pursuit of erasing the pain of years past to achieve football's ultimate prize.
