Chargers News: Sliding LA Plummets Down Most Experts' Week 15 Power Rankings

In this story:
Your Los Angeles Chargers are on a downward spiral as we approach Week 15. This was supposed to be when the Bolts buckle down and show they are a true playoff threat, but with a combination of injuries and bad play, the season is all but over for the powder blue.
The Chargers' 2023 season is unofficially over, and they are not doing themselves any favors with only four games remaining as they approach a short week.
Entering Week 15, the Bolts find themselves in unprecedented territory as multiple media outlets list them in the bottom half, specifically the last seven or lower in the weekly power rankings.
The NFL staff at Bleacher Report and NFL Nation for ESPN have them at the highest point at 25. Here's what the Bleacher Report NFL staff said about the recent drop in power rankings.
Herbert's attitude is commendable. But the Chargers' postseason hopes are toast. There's no reason to risk really injuring Herbert's hand by rolling him out there. And with surgery on tap Tuesday, the odds he plays again in 2023 are slim.
At this point, the bigger question may be if Brandon Staley's tenure as head coach of the Bolts is toast as well.

Others in the media have the Chargers as low as 29, according to USA Today and CBS Sports. Both writers who commented on their placing of the Bolts had very little to say about their week's ranking.

It's over. Justin Herbert broke a finger, their playoff hopes are done, and change is likely coming at the head-coaching spot.

The 2023 Chargers are done. Better luck next season; hopefully, it's better for everyone involved.
