Chargers News: Star Offensive Contributor Among Top Fantasy Performers At Position

In this story:
Chargers star wide receiver Keenan Allen is off to a blazing start this season, and a great indication of his on-field performance is how he fares as a fantasy performer.
Allen is currently 2nd in points-per-game amongst wide receivers, ahead of some of the league's best, including A.J Brown, Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, and JaMarr Chase.
Much of Allen's increase in success this season can be attributed to two significant factors: the addition of Kellen Moore and the improved health of Justin Herbert.
I covered the addition of Moore and how it has impacted Allen's production: link
But regarding Herbert's health, he played much of last season with shoulder and rib injuries, and Allen was still highly productive. With Herbert healthier, his throws have been more accurate, he's been more mobile, and he's been able to buy more time to find Allen despite pressure from opposing defensive lines.
In the future, with the injury to Mike Williams and seemingly no plan to replace him, Allen should continue to be peppered with targets. He's an excellent route runner in both the short- and intermediate-field, and for this reason, is a reliable 3-down receiver in an elite offense.
His fantasy production may not continue being to this level, but it's unlikely he truly slows down absent an injury to him or Herbert. With an average draft position in the early 40s prior to the season starting, he's arguably been the steal of the early rounds. He has a legitimate chance of finishing this campaign as a top-15 fantasy asset.
