What the Chiefs Need to do to Secure a Win on Monday Night Football

When this matchup was announced in May, Kansas City Chiefs fans circled their team's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football on their calendars.
Now, that day has come. After two weeks, both the Chiefs and Ravens are 2-0 but Kansas City is dealing with some injuries while Baltimore is relatively healthy coming into the contest.
On today's episode of Roughing the Kicker, Raven Country's Todd Karpovich joins me to break down the Chiefs and Ravens showdown and discuss what each team needs to do to win.
Here are my three keys to the game if the Chiefs want to come back to Kansas City Tuesday morning undefeated.
1. Score early and score often.
The Chiefs can't have the same start they did against the Chargers last week. The offensive unit starting slow against this team could be detrimental. Los Angeles was able to bring the pressure early to disrupt Mahomes and company's rhythm, so I'd expect the Ravens to do much of the same. On the other hand, the Chiefs should be preparing for pressure so the start of the game will be vital.
2. Try to contain Lamar Jackson.
While Jackson has developed into a threat in the passing game, I would much rather he try to make plays through the air than on the ground. If the Chiefs can contain the MVP with a QB spy and other coverage variations and force him to make plays with his arm rather than both, the Chiefs have a better chance in securing the victory. But this is obviously easier said than done.
3. Stop the rushing attack.
I briefly touched on Jackson's running ability in the point above but Baltimore has more than just Jackson to work with on the ground. The Ravens have four running threats every time the ball is snapped. With how the defensive front has struggled against running backs in the first two weeks, it will be paramount the Chiefs force this Ravens offense to become one dimensional.
