Will Colts Trade Jonathan Taylor? ESPN Insiders Weigh In

In this story:
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list next week.
The Colts are off to a somewhat surprising 2-1 start on the season after an upset win in Jacksonville. Will they look to move Taylor before the trade deadline at the end of October? Or will they plug him into a team that could be in the hunt for a playoff berth?
ESPN insiders Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler weighed in on a recent article from ESPN+, and they don't agree on Taylor's future.

"I'll say yes," wrote Graziano. "From what I understand, he still doesn't want to play for the Colts, and they still don't want to give him a long-term contract.
"The time since the preseason has mellowed out the market a bit and maybe created more fertile ground for a deal. It wouldn't surprise me if his first game of the season was in a different uniform. The Browns might end up being more motivated to make a deal than they want us to believe after the Nick Chubb injury."
Fowler went the other route with his prediction.
"I think he stays put," wrote Fowler. "For as much as Taylor would like to be dealt -- and heck, the Colts are probably cool with it at this point, too -- I don't see a team that's clamoring to give up a Day 2 pick for a running back.
"Just look at the Colts, who are 2-1 with Zack Moss as their leading back. Taylor is much better, of course, and has value. And maybe he's the player to unlock a contender; Cleveland does make some sense, and Browns GM Andrew Berry never shies away from a potential deal. But Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt is a pretty good tandem.
"Plus, Miami -- a Taylor suitor in the preseason -- is running wild with Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane."
The demand for Taylor's services across the league has likely softened. Zack Moss has over 250 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his two starts for the Colts.
Moss has 54 touches in those two games, and he would partner up nicely with Taylor.
The market has softened. Running backs with potential trade partners are flourishing. The Colts are coming out of the gates faster than expected.
Jonathan Taylor remaining with the Indianapolis Colts for the remainder of the season still makes the most sense.
We're with Fowler on this one.
