The Washington Commanders are back in action today against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

Seattle is looking to rebound from a blowout loss in Baltimore and get back in the driver's seat in the race for the NFC West, while Washington is hoping to build on a win over the Patriots in Week 9.

Washington has lost five of its last seven after starting the season with two consecutive wins and finds itself in third place in the NFC East behind Dallas and Philadelphia. The Seahawks are 3-2 in their last five and are tied for the lead in the West after the San Francisco 49ers have lost three in a row.

But an abysmal performance by Seattle last week in a 37-3 loss to Baltimore has raised questions about the team both on offense and defense. And now, injuries are becoming a concern for the Seahawks as running back Kenneth Walker III and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba returned to practice Thursday as full participants after not taking part on Wednesday. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks missed practice for a second straight day because of a new hamstring injury, and wideout DK Metcalf got a day off with his lingering hip injury, which has become a regular thing.

The Commanders beat the Seahawks 17-15 the last time the two teams met in 2021. And Washington quarterback Sam Howell will be looking for his favorite receiver, Terry McLaurin early and often. McLaurin has plenty of targets this season but has just one touchdown catch since Week 2. The Howell-to-McLaurin connection won't have it easy this week against a talented secondary that includes the corner trio of Riq Woolen, Tre Brown and rookie Devon Witherspoon.

Seahawks edge rusher Boye Mafe has become the team's best pass rusher in just his second season. He's already matched a team record with a sack in six straight games.
