Cowboys Legends Jimmy Johnson, Drew Pearson Among NFL Hall of Fame 'Centennial Class' Finalists
FRISCO - A pair of Dallas Cowboys champions from two different NFL eras - coach Jimmy Johnson and receiver Drew Pearson - are among the 38 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2020 Centennial Class.
The finalists were announced Thursday, with the Centennial Class to be chosen as part of the NFL's 100th anniversary. There is another level of thinning the list, down to 15 (10 seniors players, three contributors and two coaches), due on Jan. 8
The 15 chosen will comprise the Centennial Class, which will be formally enshrined in the Hall of Fame on Sept. 16-19, as part of the 100th-anniversary celebration. This group will be honored in addition to the Hall of Fame Class of 2020 that will be chosen and announced the day before Super Bowl LIV in Miami, and those five modern-era selections will be enshrined in August.
The Centennial candidates, featuring Johnson (the co-architect of "The Team of the 90's'' in Dallas) and Pearson (who was All-Decade NFL in two separate decades):
