Cowboys' Dak Prescott Set To Do Battle With NBA Superstar In Unlikely Event

In this story:
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is set to make some tosses this weekend, but not on the football field.
Instead, Prescott will be taking part in "The Cornhole World Championship of the World" in Frisco, Texas. The event, which will take place on Saturday, April 4, at Rollertown Beerworks, with doors opening at 4 p.m. CT, is titled "The Throwdown at Rollertown."
As for who Prescott will be going up against, it will be none other than former Dallas Mavericks superstar and current Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic.

"This Saturday, The Haymaker Network and Rollertown Beerworks come together to bring you 'The Throwdown at Rollertown', featuring Luka Dončić and Dak Prescott going head-to-head in a one-of-a-kind event: The Cornhole World Championship of the World," The Haymaker Network's Ben Rogers announced.
"It's a celebration and an opportunity for DFW to let Luka know they love him and are cheering him on to win MVP this season," Rogers added in his announcement.
What is cornhole?

Cornhole is a popular North American lawn game that involves trying to toss bean bags into holes on raised, angled boards to score points.
The game can pit two people against one another, or teams of two can do battle. It's a great game to play during social events, including NFL tailgates.
Dak and Doncic's relationship

Of course, there was no shortage of controversy surrounding the NBA superstar's departure from Dallas after he was sent to Los Angeles in a legendary and mind-boggling trade.
The deal saw now-former (and understandably so) Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison send Doncic to the Lakers in a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz that saw Dallas only receive Anthony Davis, Max Christie and the Lakers' 2029 first-round pick.
Prescott and Doncic are no strangers to one another, and not just because they both played in Dallas. The pair of star players once exchanged jerseys back in 2021.
“Love sharing the city with you bro! Keep ballin," Prescott said to Doncic after the exchange.

The Mavericks were successful in landing a star to replace Doncic in Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick in 2025, albeit with a ton of luck because Dallas had small odds to get that selection.
Even still, it has been a tough year for Mavericks and Cowboys fans.
The Mavs are sitting with a putrid 24-52 record this season, and the Cowboys are coming off a campaign in which they missed the postseason once again despite another strong year from Dak.

While the event starts at 4 p.m. CT, doors will open at 11 a.m. CT and arriving early is highly recommended, as it's first come, first serve.
The event is free and open to the public.
