Eagles Take Top Spot on PFF's Offensive Line Rankings Again

The Philadelphia Eagles claim the top spot once again on PFF's offensive line rankings.

Over the past several years, the Philadelphia Eagles have assembled what many consider to be the best offensive line in football.

That offensive line has been instrumental to the Eagles' success as of late, allowing their offense to be as effective as it is. Even if the exact lineup has changed over time, the unit has continued to block at a high level in both running and passing situations. The offensive line has garnered many awards over the years, and it's almost a given to see at least one member in the NFL's All-Pro team.

Philadelphia's big men up front earned another accolade on Tuesday, earning the top spot on PFF's 2023 offensive line rankings. The Eagles also claimed the top spot on the final 2022 rankings, and have appeared near the top of the list very regularly. Even after losing starting right guard Isaac Seumalo in free agency, the Eagles' offensive line remains among the league's best.

"The Eagles remain the best offensive line in the game on paper," PFF writes. "They lost a starter in the offseason, but 2022 draft pick Cam Jurgens is ready to step in to fill that void."

PFF also goes a step further and names the best player on the Eagles' offensive line. There are multiple candidates for that title, but PFF decided to go with right tackle Lane Johnson over center Jason Kelce and others. The outlet even goes as far as to say that Johnson is the best at his position in the NFL.

"Lane Johnson is the standard by which all right tackles are measured, particularly as Tristan Wirfs is moving to the left side in Tampa Bay," PFF writes. "The last time he allowed a sack was the 2020 season."

Despite all the praise, PFF recognizes that no o-line is perfect, even Philadelphia's. In this case, the problem lies in penalties. The Eagles' offensive line took 44 penalties in 2022, tied for the most in the league.

Even with that criticism, the Eagles' front five remains elite and continues to draw envy around the league.
