Eagles LB Haason Reddick: 'There's Still More Levels For Me!’

After posting a career-high 16 sacks last season, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Hanson Reddick believes he can still hit another level going forward

The Philadelphia Eagles made a huge splash by signing linebacker Haason Reddick last offseason, and it paid immediate dividends.

Reddick was already coming off two straight seasons with double-digit sacks, but he took his game to another level in Year 1 with the Eagles. The 28-year-old pass-rusher had 49 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and a league-leading five forced fumbles. The only player with more sacks than him was San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, who won the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Even after a career year, Reddick believes his ceiling is even higher. He feels he's in great shape heading into the new season and looking to build even further on what he's accomplished.

“I’m in great shape,” Reddick told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “As crazy as it sounds, I feel as if there’s still more levels for me to tap into. I’m extremely excited and looking to build on another great year. I want to continue to progress on what I did and what the team did last year."

Reddick was part of an Eagles pass rush that was one of the NFL's best in recent memory. Philadelphia finished the regular season with 70 sacks, 15 more than the next-closest team, and added eight more during the playoffs. In addition to Reddick's 16 sacks, defensive linemen Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham and Javon Hargrave each had 11 on the season.

That pass rush was a huge part of the Eagles' success last season, but it will look a bit different in 2023. Hargrave left in free agency, but Philadelphia drafted defensive tackle Jalen Carter and linebacker Nolan Smith to make up for the loss. If the rookies can learn fast, the Eagles' pass rush will be among the best in the league again.

As great as individual success is, Reddick is more focused on helping the Eagles win the championship that barely eluded them last season.

“We know our ultimate goals, but it starts with us striving for constant success,” Reddick said.
