The Eagles' well-regarded front office, lost a key contributor when vice president of football operations Jeff Scott left Philadelphia to become the assistant general manager with the Atlanta Falcons under another former Eagles executive, Ian Cunningham.

Now the Falcons' GM, Cunningham, worked with Scott for a short time in Philadelphia, Cunningham's last year in South Philly before becoming the assistant GM in Chicago, and Scott's first as a as a senior pro scout with the Eagles following a nine-year tenure (2012-20) with Washington.

By the next year, Scott was promoted to director of football operations by Howie Roseman. He was then given the VP title in 2024.

"We are thrilled to have Jeff become a member of our team. While Jeff and I worked together in Philadelphia for a short period of time, I quickly realized he is a man of integrity, he has a high degree of attention to detail and discipline, while always treating everyone with respect," Cunningham said in a statement. "His values align with ours, as does his mission to help build a team that consistently competes for championships. Jeff brings a breadth of experience across all football operations and a keen eye for talent."

Typically a front-office move like this would now have to wait until after the NFL Draft later this month but Roseman permitted Scott to interview with the Falcons because most of his duties were on the pro side of the scouting department.

A Relationship Business

Cunningham even thanked Roseman for allowing Scott to pursue the next step in his career.

"First and foremost, this is a relationship business," Cunningham said. "I want to thank Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles for granting permission to allow Jeff the opportunity to take on this role and advance his career."
