Browns Send Jadeveon Clowney Home; Should Falcons Sign This Offseason?

It appears to be the beginning of the end for Cleveland Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney after he told reporters Friday that there was a "95% chance he wouldn't be back" next season.
That chance progressed to all but 100 percent when the Browns sent home the former No. 1 overall pick after he made those comments. Chances are, Clowney won't play in the Browns season finale Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As a free agent this spring, Clowney will look for a new home, and the Atlanta Falcons could be a fit.
Clowney, who turns 30 next month, has recorded only two sacks this season in 63 percent of snaps, but maybe a change of scenery could see a revival in the South Carolina native's career.
Clowney nearly signed with the Falcons ahead of this season, but once the Browns traded for his friend and former Houston Texans teammate Deshaun Watson, he opted to sign with Cleveland for a one-year deal worth up to $11 million.
According to 92.3 The Fan, Clowney "probably" would have ended up with the Falcons had Watson been traded to Atlanta.
The Falcons have struggled in the pass rush department the past few seasons. After recording a league-low 18 sacks in 2021, the team responded with just 20 so far this season, ranking 31st in the league.
The Falcons will likely look to the draft to add some pass rush talent, but acquiring a veteran in free agency is a possibility as well, and Clowney could be the player Atlanta is looking for.
