The Jaguars' Best Offensive Options in the Second Round

The Jacksonville Jaguars don't own their first-round pick. Despite that, what are some offensive playmakers they can snag in the second round?

The Jacksonville Jaguars don't have their own first-round pick this year due to them trading up for Travis Hunter last season. It wasn't an extremely valuable pick they gave up to the Cleveland Browns, but with how their offseason has gone, they would've greatly appreciated a chance to snag a gem at the end of the first.

James Gladstone was able to come in and shape this roster the way he wanted, but now he faces his first big challenge. In order to ace this challenge, they have to nail their first pick of the draft. What kind of offensive players can they expect to still be on the board at the 56th pick of the draft?

Offensive Options

Bhayshul Tuten is set to be the team's starting running back next season, but their decision to bring in Chris Rodriguez Jr. shows they're not committed to him as their full-time starter. They can further complicate this running back room by taking a shot on Jadarian Price.

Price may not have the same explosiveness as his teammate, Jeremiyah Love, but what he does have is excellent field vision and the patience to let plays develop. That vision helped him cross the goal line 11 times last season, and he'd be incredible in goal-line packages to help them score.

Eli Stowers

In 2023, the Jaguars selected a tight end in the second round, and they can do the same in 2026. Brenton Strange has shown consistent improvement in the NFL, but if they're leaning towards letting him walk in free agency, Eli Stowers would be a good and cheap alternative.

He's a former quarterback, so he'd know what Trevor Lawrence is going to look for on the field. On top of that, his long arms make him a big threat in the end zone. He's great at catching passes outside of his frame, and could be another dangerous receiver after the catch for their offense.

Fernando Carmona

Finally, the Jaguars can bolster their offensive line by selecting Fernando Carmona. His short arms and wide frame make him prone to a weaker base compared to other offensive linemen, but it's never a bad idea to invest in a good backup in case a starter goes down.

If he improves his hands and body control, he can be one of their starting guards for a long time. At the very least, they get an outspoken lineman who's ready to put in the work and light a fire in the locker room.
