Lions Week 4 Monday Practice Report

Lions have started their preparations for the Green Bay Packers.

The Detroit Lions will begin division play on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers.

Both teams will be playing on short rest, as both NFC North squads were victorious in Week 3

On Monday, the team released their first estimated practice report ahead of Thursday's game.

Players indicate that while the primary goal is to rest and prepare for a tough contest, it is equally important to get focused mentally, while attempting to recover from the previous game at Ford Field

"Mentally. The physical preparation is already there. We've got to be mentally locked in on what we need to do," said Isaiah Buggs. "We just got to move forward and continue to bring the injury that we had today to Green Bay."

Coach Dan Campbell indicated he noticed the hunger his team displayed against the Atlanta Falcons.

Moving forward, Campbell's squad is seeking to cut down on the number of penalties incurred.

“I think that those are prideful guys in there. We’ve got players that are, it means something to them. So do the coaches," said Campbell. "We’re collectively trying to help ourselves get a little bit better and I thought AG did a great job with the game plan. We wanted to find a way to generate a little more pressure and we did that with a couple of things that we did. But also, guys really showed up.

"They really won their one-on-one's today, a lot of guys and we fought on the back end, we really did. I thought we covered pretty good," Campbell continued. "Certainly there’s some penalties we’ve got to clean up. We knew there would be but that’s still too much. We can’t have that but we overcame it and defense really set the tone for the day and I though the offense finished it.”
