What Lions Said After Losing to Packers: 'They Prepared Better'

On how tough it is to accept team losing to Packers: "This game was big coming in. Coming into it, we knew how tough it was going to be playing a team twice. But we just have to be better. I have to be better. Yeah. This one hurt on Thanksgiving, too."
What made things difficult against Packers: "Just preparation. They prepared better than us this game. But, I guess the bright side is we still fight to the end. And shoot, that's all you can ask for."
On Lions QB Jared Goff’s recent turnovers: “Well, I think with some of these you feel like we’re a little bit behind and maybe that’s the cause of some of it. We just, there’s a little uneasiness. We’ve just got to get back to what we do, play with a little more rhythm.
"This isn’t something we’re going to go into panic mode. I’ve got some time here to just look at a couple of things and see where we can get a little more efficient. But at the same time, this is the same team that’s been here all year – Offense, defense, Goff’s the same quarterback. We clean a couple of things up and I think we’ll get back into a rhythm and we’ll be just fine.”
On if he senses a change in them being considered the hunter or the hunted: “Yeah, maybe. I mean, we’ve had some success up to this point. We’re 8-3 and 8-2 before today and yeah, teams are going to give us their best shot. We’re leading our division. This is a divisional opponent. They came in ready to play and did a great job. I don’t know if it changes how we approach the game. We’re still hunting a whole lot. We’re still hunting first overall in our division and then whatever we can get after that, but yeah, it’s a long road ahead and we’d like to still be on the offense of hunting what we’re trying to get.”
Reaction to losing to Packers: "We always come in wanting to win, but sometimes they end up like that. But we control what we can control. So, we just need to do a better job executing the little stuff and not turning the ball over."
On what caused some of the issues executing: "I think it was pretty much self-inflicted. But shout out to them. They did a great job, though, a really good job on defense. We could have stopped some of that with our details, but we didn't execute."
On Dan Campbell owning the failed fake punt: “Honestly, I’m the type of guy that never blames coaches or anybody for the call. Because whatever he felt was right, and you know, if it was executed right, it doesn’t matter. But, that’s one of those things that the defense comes out, and you need to be ready to go. Like we said, more time, force a turnover, get the ball back and do what we can, force a field goal, however it takes. That’s really the mindset of the defense. Just don’t let them in the end zone.”
On the first play of the game and how it set the tone for the Packers: “Yeah. What day is it Thursday? We’ve known since Wednesday, so something we put in this week that we thought was going to work and we were confident in it and came out, you know obviously put the ball up there and Christian (Watson) went up there made a great catch.”
