Lions Sign RB/WR Kerrith Whyte to Practice Squad

The Detroit Lions have signed free-agent wide receiver and running back Kerrith Whyte to their practice squad roster.
Wide receiver Victor Bolden has been let go from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
Whyte was on the Bears and Steelers roster last year and was cut by the Steelers last week.
Whyte will join Detroit's practice squad and not on their active roster.
Last season, in six games with the Steelers, he rushed on 24 occasions for 122 yards.
He returned 14 kickoffs for 264 yards.
Whyte was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Florida Atlantic.
In 2018, Whyte recorded a career-high 134 carries for 866 yards and eight touchdowns, along with 19 kickoff returns for an average of 28.7 yards and a touchdown.
He ended his collegiate career with 232 total carries for 1,358 and 11 touchdowns, 22 receptions for 327 yards and two touchdowns, and a 81 kickoff return for 26.1 average yards and two scores.
Players protected on practice squad
Detroit's four protected practice squad players were named for this week.
Four players on the practice squad can be protected from other teams on a weekly basis this season.
The list this week includes quarterback David Blough, tight end Isaac Nauta, cornerback Dee Virgin and running back Jonathan Williams.
