Report: Teddy Bridgewater Has 'Strong' Contract Offer from Lions

In this story:
The Detroit Lions reportedly have strong interest in backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
According to ESPN, the veteran signal-caller has drawn interest from several NFL teams, including the Lions, which are seeking to shore up the backup spot heading into a pivotal 2023 season.
While his future is in question, as he is taking time to make a decision, Bridgewater has the opportunity to reunite with head coach Dan Campbell. Bridgewater reportedly has a "strong" contract offer waiting for him from Detroit.
Bridgewater spent the 2018-2019 seasons with the New Orleans Saints, when Campbell served as the team's tight ends coach.
Bridgewater, a 30-year old veteran, spent the 2022 season with the Miami Dolphins.
Detroit general manager Brad Holmes has indicated all offseason that the team would make the backup quarterback position a priority. Current reserve signal-caller Nate Sudfeld does not have nearly the amount of regular season experience to give the coaching staff confidence, should anything happen to Jared Goff.
“We were looking at some quarterbacks that had a little more game experience, but obviously, it just didn’t work out. But, it’s not like we had a pool of experienced quarterbacks that we were just looking through," said Holmes, at the league meetings. "Really, it was down to three guys, including Nate. So, (was) just only looking at two other guys that we were kind of just looking at, and it didn’t work out.”
