Nate Hobbs Entering Fourth Season With Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Nate Hobbs entering fourth season and poised for a contract extension.

The Las Vegas Raiders had many defensive backs who impacted the Silver and Black teams last season.

One of the defensive backs who made an impact was cornerback Nate Hobbs. Hobbs is entering his fourth season with the Silver and Black this upcoming season.

He ended up playing 13 games last season with the Raiders, finishing with 86 total tackles, 59 solo tackles, six tackles for loss, and one interception.

According to Pro Football Focus, Hobbs finished the 2023-24 NFL regular season with an overall grade of 69.0, a run-defense grade of 78.8, a pass-rush grade of 45.8, and a coverage grade of 68.1.

In his three years as a cornerback, Hobbs has 232 total tackles, 167 solo tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, and two interceptions.

Hobbs's best game last season came in Week 16 against the Kanas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. He finished with 11 total tackles, nine solo tackles, and one pass defended in the Raiders' 20-14 win over the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium.

In a recent "Las Vegas Raiders Raiders Insider Podcast," our own Hondo Carpenter Sr. discussed his thoughts on the entire defensive back room for the Silver and Black, including fourth-year cornerback Hobbs.

"He's a special player now," Carpenter said. "His sophomore year was not good; he goes back where he should have been in the slot and made some big plays, big play, Hobbs. He's now in year four and poised for an extension."

"This young man, he's a real deal," Carpenter continued. "I think personally, if not the best, he's one B-slot corner in the NFL. Big player, big hits. Good kid, by the way. He's just fun and just a really good kid."

"I like Nate a lot, and I think he's got superstar potential. He is physical and such a hard worker—just a tremendously hard worker. I am very excited about Nate this year."

It will be interesting to see Hobbs compete this offseason as he enters his fourth season as a cornerback with the Silver and Black.
