Where the Raiders Stand Entering Titans Clash

The Las Vegas Raiders are at home today, looking to get back on the winning side of things. Here are their rankings heading into kickoff at Allegiant Stadium.

The Las Vegas Raiders are at home today for their Week 6 clash with the Tennessee Titans of the AFC South. This is a game that the Raiders must win if they want to keep their season alive. They come into this game with a 1-4 record and losers of four straight.

They need this game badly. It will be another opportunity for the Raiders to show that they have fixed what they have done during their losing streak. A lot of eyes will be on the Raiders in this one.

One area the Raiders have to play better in is the offense side of the ball. It all starts with quarterback Geno Smith. Smith has been playing bad football over the last few games. He has been a quarterback who has turned the ball over all season long. That is something he cannot do in this game; he wants to give his team the best chance to win the game. Smith leads the NFL in interceptions. Smith is going up against a defense that he can gain his confidence back against.

If Smith continues to turn the ball over in today's game, he could get benched. That is something that could have happened last week, but did not. Smith knows that he has been playing back football, and he is putting his team in a bad position each time he turns the ball over. The running game could help him, and that is something the Raiders will need to do more of. A running game is a quarterback's best friend, especially when things are not going the right way.

Neil Greenberg of The Washington Post gave his rankings heading into Week 6, and he has the Raiders at No. 23 and as a below-average team.

"The Raiders’ 40-6 loss to Indianapolis exposed a team in transition. Geno Smith threw two costly interceptions, and the offense failed repeatedly in the red zone. Turnovers, poor protection and an underwhelming passing game have Las Vegas already looking ahead to the draft."

This is something the Raiders want to improve on, and today could be a game where they start turning it around.
