Where Will Jadeveon Clowney Sign? Ravens Remain in NFL Free Agency Race

While Jadeveon Clowney remains available in free agency with plenty of teams having interest, the Baltimore Ravens don't seem ready to give him up that easy.

Outside of All-Pro defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, the Baltimore Ravens' pass rush relied heavily on older stars during the 2023 season.

It worked to great effect throughout the year.

Baltimore's defensive unit was the first in history to lead the league in points allowed, sacks, and turnovers - setting a new triple crown mark that even the most historic units before them were not able to match.

A big part of that success was the ability to get solid production like aging stars like Kyle Van Noy, and former first-overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. While Van Now is expected to return to Baltimore this offseason, Clowney's playing future is a little more cloudy.

The former Pro Bowl edge rusher with the Houston Texans has visited the New York Jets, with additional teams like the Carolina Panthers also expected to have interest. New York lost pass rushing dynamo Bryce Huff to the Philadelphia Eagles while the Panthers traded away Brian Burns to the New York Giants as well - both teams have obvious needs at the position.

With several teams of interest, the Ravens will need to make a difficult decision if they feel they can move on from Clowney's 9.5 sack season from 2023, or if they truly need to keep as many defensive pieces together as possible. Baltimore has already lost Patrick Queen and Geno Stone in free agency to AFC North rivals.

Losing Clowney to a team in the conference - and one with championship aspirations like the Jets - surely wouldn't help the Ravens future plans either.

It's why Baltimore will continue to have interest in Clowney as a player. If the two sides can agree to terms on a new contract, it could be exactly what keeps the Ravens defense among the elite across the league.
