Skip Bayless 'Canceled,' 'Undisputed' Killed by Ravens Ex Shannon Sharpe

Former Ravens tight end and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has made quite the name for himself in the televised sports media realm. But last month, he closed the most recent chapter of his television career, as he officially said goodbye to Fox Sports 1's Undisputed and his former co-host, Skip Bayless.

And in doing so, he in the modern sense of the word, may have "canceled'' the hate-mongering fake Bayless.

You may have noticed there haven't been any new episodes of the Fox Sports 1 show featuring a Sharpe replacement. since then. That's reportedly because Fox cannot find anyone to take the seat opposite Bayless, and you can take that any way you want. Skip would have you believe it's tough to find somehow who can hang with him. Our educated guess is that right-thinking journalists don't want to share a stage with a conman.

The show has been officially on hiatus since Sharpe abruptly walked away, but Bayless - who is apparently "struggling'' with the emotions of it all - announced the return of the show on August 28 with new episodes, and presumably a new second chair.

Apparently finding someone to dance with Bayless every day is harder than the network - and Bayless - thought. With the recent layoffs at ESPN, names like Keyshawn Johnson and Max Kellerman were mentioned, but nothing seems to have transpired.

Names already employed by Fox also have been speculated on, like LeSean McCoy, Nick Wright, Emmanuel Acho and Joy Taylor. But while Bayless and Fox Sports 1 have announced a return date, neither has given any hint of who will endure the daily beatdown that Bayless will provide on the air.

Bayless is under contract with Fox Sports through 2025 after inking a four-year, $32 million extension in March of 2021. He is therefore not "canceled'' in the traditional sense of the word. But close enough.
