4 Seahawks Fighting For a Roster Spot in Preseason Week 2 vs. Titans

After facing off with one another in a joint practice on Friday in Nashville, the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans will take the field for a Preseason Week 2 matchup on Sunday night.

Preseason games might not always be full of excitement, but that doesn't mean there aren't reasons to watch, especially for diehard fans interested in roster construction. While the coaching staff learns plenty during training camp and joint practices, players can still make a strong case for themselves during the preseason.

That's especially true for the following four Seahawks players who will enter Sunday night's meeting with the Titans fighting for their place on the roster.

Bobby Hart, OT

Signed this offseason as a free agent to give Seattle depth at offensive tackle, Bobby Hart is already in danger of not making the team. Hart hasn't stood out in camp but what really has him feeling the heat is his performance against the Cowboys in Week 1. Hart gave up a sack against James Houston and struggled to slow down rookie Malachi Lawrence.

The one thing that helps him is that Seattle doesn't have anyone else proving to be a vastly superior option, but Hart is definitely entering this game with plenty of weight on his shoulders.

Nehemiah Pritchett, CB

After the Seahawks signed Trevon Diggs, both Nehemiah Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene find themselves on the roster bubble. Of the two, however, Pritchett might be in the most immediate danger. While Diggs will likely move ahead of each, Seahawks On SI's Jeremy Brener noted that Igbinoghene's work in the slot shields him slightly from Diggs' addition since the former NFL interception leader plays primarily on the outside.

That means Pritchett enters Week 2 of the NFL preseason feeling the pressure. He already finds himself fighting for his spot on the team with players such as rookie third-round pick Julian Neal already ahead of him. This latest addition only makes it tougher for him to find a path to the 53-man roster.

George Holani & Emanuel Wilson, RB

Jadarian Price was expected to be the RB1 this season while Zach Charbonnet recovers from ACL surgery, but George Holani had different plans. Holani was a standout throughout camp and inserted his name into the conversation. The question is whether that remains the case after he averaged just 3.5 yards per attempt against the Cowboys last week. The offensive line did him no favors, but if Holani really wants to hold off Price, he needs a better showing this weekend.

Behind Price and Holani is Emanuel Wilson, who signed with Seattle in the offseason. Wilson has yet to make his debut, but has a chance to see some action on Sunday, assuming he's recovered enough from his hamstring injury. If he does play, he needs to prove he deserves to be in the rotation. If he sits out again, his chance to earn a significant role early in the year could begin to fade.
