NFL draft expert urges Seahawks to add another weapon for Sam Darnold

In this story:
After trading away quarterback Geno Smith and wide receiver DK Metcalf, the Seattle Seahawks have a few extra picks to play around with when the 2025 NFL draft rolls around in a few weeks.
Even with the added draft capital, the team only has one pick in Round 1 (No. 18 overall), and it will be highly scrutinized. The Seahawks need help on the interior of their offensive line, especially with a pressure-averse Sam Darnold taking over at quarterback.
However, they may be tempted to go in a different direction if the draft's top wide receiver falls into their laps in the first round.
Seattle replaced Metcalf with former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, but some believe the team would be better off drafting another weapon for Darnold.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein would like to see the Seahawks continue to add playmakers, projecting Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan to Seattle in his latest mock draft.
"The signings of Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling should not prevent the Seahawks from adding a talented wideout to help smooth the transition for new quarterback Sam Darnold," wrote Zierlein. "They still need guard help, but that will have to come later."
While the Seahawks have enough draft capital to potentially trade up, finding an instant upgrade at guard or center outside of the first round could be tough in this year's class. This is why the idea of adding a blue-chip wide receiver who could immediately contribute is so appealing.
McMillan is the third-rated prospect on Pro Football Focus' big board and it's easy to see why. The former Arizona star has racked up 3,414 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns on 16.4 yards per catch over the last three seasons.
Darnold has had success in Minnesota, where there were two quality wide receivers in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Can the Seahawks really afford to pass on the next Jefferson after trading Metcalf away?
That's something general manager John Schneider will need to figure out over the next three weeks.
