Former Steelers WR Announces Retirement, Shares Appreciation in Video

A former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver has officially called it a career ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

On Instagram, Allen Robinson II announced that he is retiring after an 11-year stint in the league spent between the Jacksonville Jaguars (2014 - 2017), Chicago Bears (2018 - 2021), Los Angeles Rams (2022), Steelers (2023) and Detroit Lions (2024).

"As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here," Robinson wrote. "This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter.

"To every love story, there comes a final chapter. Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life."

Former Pro Bowl WR Allen Robinson is officially retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, as he announced on IG.

Robinson finishes his outstanding career with 565 catches, 7,058 yards, and 43 TDs.

Robinson Shouts Out Steelers

Robinson had plenty of positive things to say about his lone year with the Steelers, shouting out Mike Tomlin in particular.

"Shoutout to Coach Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I had one of the strongest connections coach-wise with Coach Tomlin. When he coached, the things that he said day in and day out was an experience like no other, to the point where I called my agent and I told him that I didn't know that I could play for any other coach other than Coach Tomlin," Robinson said.

He also went on to show some love to some of his fellow receivers in Pittsburgh in George Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Calvin Austin III.

"I feel like I enjoyed playing the game again," Robinson said. "Playing with George Pickens, playing with Diontae Johnson, playing with Calvin Austin, those guys kept me young."

Robinson's Time in Pittsburgh

Entering the second year of a three-year, $46.5 million deal with the Rams, Robinson was traded to the Steelers in March 2023 as the two teams exchanged seventh-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Robinson II was coming off a season-ending foot injury in Los Angeles, though he played in all 17 games that year for Pittsburgh and finished with 280 yards on 34 catches.

In the Steelers' Wild Card round loss to the Buffalo Bills, he logged two receptions for 12 yards.

The organization later cut Robinson II in March 2024. He proceeded to sign with the New York Giants, who released him that August.

He then signed with the Lions and played in 12 contests for them, posting 30 yards in what would end up being his final season.
