PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most followed franchises in professional sports in the United States as well as across the entire globe.

With that comes extra media attention, which can be both good and bad depending on the situation.

In the most recent case, however, it has not gone so well for the Steelers and their players. National football analyst Jay Glazer of FOX NFL has taken to the media to issue his gripes against Rodgers. He and Rodgers have a storied history that goes back years, as Rodgers has not been shy of the media, and Glazer has been an active member of the football press for quite a while.

On an appearance on Yahoo Sports Daily's show at Radio Row for the Super Bowl, Glazer spoke about Rodgers. He mentioned that the two had not spoken in a long time, and that he no longer considered the two of them to be friends.

“I thought [me and Aaron Rodgers] were real good friends, and all that stuff, then he called me back once this whole offseason, so screw him,” Glazer said.

He was then also asked about Rodgers' future, which could potentially involve a return to the Steelers as their quarterback or end with a unceremonious retirement. Glazer, due to his lack of communication with Rodgers in recent times, was unsure about Rodgers' future and was unable to give a concrete answer.

“Can’t tell you how (Rodgers will) be on a Monday or Tuesday, I never know,” Glazer said.

Rodgers and His Media Tendencies

Rodgers has also been known to be more of an enigma in recent years, so it is possible that Rodgers is being purposefully coy about his future plans. He had mentioned ahead of this season that he had wished to retire at the end of the season, but after a season that was a mix of both good and bad, Rodgers may want to have a more consistent final season.

Rodgers does not have to make a decision this month, but as the weather starts to warm up and the draft approaches, the Steelers will need to have a better idea of where their future will be at the quarterback position. Right now, the Steelers options look to be either Rodgers or Will Howard, and neither has seemed to inspire much confidence in the hearts of Steelers fans nor the media who cover the team.
