Patriots List Drake Maye on Wednesday Injury Report With Shoulder Ailment

In this story:
The Patriots did not practice on Wednesday, but if they had, star quarterback Drake Maye would have been limited with a shoulder injury, the team announced.
Both New England and Seattle were required by the league to release injury reports on Wednesday, and Maye showed up on the projected practice report, lending credence to the fact that he's less than 100% with a week and a half until the Patriots take the field in the Super Bowl.
The good news for Patriots fans is that Maye was listed as limited, meaning that he would have practiced to some extent if New England was on the field on Wednesday. Whatever Maye is dealing with in his right shoulder is not serious enough for him to totally sit out.
Maye downplayed speculation that his shoulder injury was serious in an appearance on WEEI in Boston on Tuesday.
“I’m feeling good,” Maye said. “Got some extra rest. I think the build up of throwing for almost - including training camp - 30 weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up. But got some extra rest and I'm feeling good. Ready to go for the Super Bowl.”
The Patriots and Seahawks play in Super Bowl XL in San Francisco on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
