Titans NFL Draft Daily (Feb. 26): New Name Emerges at Offensive Tackle in Mock Draft

Most of the mock NFL drafts to date have the Tennessee Titans taking an offensive tackle, specifically Notre Dame's Joe Alt or Penn State's Olu Fashanu, with the No. 7 overall pick. CBS Sports is first to predict Alabama tackle JC Latham.

Just when you thought you've heard all the offensive tackle options for the Tennessee Titans with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, a new name emerges. Alabama's JC Latham has been tagged as a possibility with the Titans' first-round pick.

CBS Sports' Tom Fornelli released his latest mock draft as we prepare for NFL Scouting Combine week. He believes the Titans will take Latham with the No. 7 selection in the draft.

It's an interesting projection, as most draft analysts predict Tennessee will select either Notre Dame's Joe Alt or Penn State's Olu Fashanu

In Fornelli's dry run, he has Alt going No. 5 to the Los Angeles Chargers. Surprisingly, he thinks the Titans take Latham over Fashanu — who he has going one pick later at No. 8 to the Washington Commanders (via trade).

"I had the Titans trade down in my last mock after a couple of tackles were off the board before their pick, but this time I have them holding firm and drafting Latham,"  Fornelli writes. "At this stage, Latham is a better pass-blocker than a run-blocker, but he's strong, athletic, and can move."

Latham becomes the fourth offensive tackle associated with the Titans as a potential first-round pick. Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga also has been mentioned.

Because of the pass-blocking concerns at left tackle, it seems like a no-brainer that Tennessee will address that position with its first-round selection on April 25.

The Titans have four good options in Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga and Latham. It'll be interesting to see if one player sticks out more than the rest during the NFL Scouting Combine, which runs Wednesday through Sunday in Indianapolis.
