NASHVILLE — Summer is turning into fall, and it's a beautiful day for football at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. It's in the low 70s as we approach kickoff between the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers.

Welcome to our live blog, where we'll keep you updated on all the news and views from the game straight from press row at Nissan Stadium. We'll throw in some highlights and opinion as well, and have a good time throughout the game.

Here's how the blog works. We'll post the most recent items at the top, so just refresh occasionally and you'll see everything in real time. Here we go.

2:47 p.m. A huge sack on third down by Harold Landry is going to force the Chargers to attempt a field goal with just 3 seconds left. Cameron Dicker makes it, and we're tied at 24-24. Heading into OT now. Chargers win the toss.

2:37 p.m. — Touchdown Titans! Ryan Tannehill hits Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in the back of the end zone from 4 yards out to take the lead. PAT is good and Tennessee leads 24-21 with 2:22 to go.

2:30 p.m. — The Titans make another stop on third down, with Mike Brown knocking down a Justin Herbert pass over the middle. The Chargers are forced to punt, and Tennessee will take over at its own 18-yard line with 6:00 to go.

2:09 p.m. — A nice hitch and go, and Chargers QB Justin Herbert finds Keenan Allen in the end zone for a 12-yard score. The kick is good and now the Chargers lead 21-17.

2:07 p.m. — That's the end of the third quarter. The Chargers are on the move, with a first-and-10 at the Titans 16. TITANS 17, CHARGERS 14.

1:51 p.m. — Blessed with a lead for the first time, the Titans defense steps up big. A huge sack by Jeffery Simmons on third down, and the Chargers are forced to punt. Titans take over at the 12-yard line, leading 17-14 with 7:00 to go in the third quarter. The drive ends on another sack, this time with Tannehill losing 13 yards on the sack. That's four sacks for 40 yards.

1:44 p.m. — The Titans are on the move with the first drive of the third quarter, and they've gotten a little help from two big Chargers penalties on third down. Ryan Tannehill runs it in from 12 yards out, and the Titans take the lead. It's Tennessee, 17-14.

1:20 p.m. — A nice drive by the Titans to end the half. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine with a second catch, and he's got 21 yards now. He came into the game with 964 yards for his career, so he's closing in a 1,000 yards. Nick Folk converts from 34 yards out and the half ends with the Chargers leading 14-10.

1:05 p.m. — Justin Herbert goes deep too and find Keenan Allen down the right side for 42 yards. Titans cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting gets burned. Chargers have to settle for a field goal, though, and Cameron Dicker converts from 30 yards. The Chargers lead 14-7. Seven plays and 63 yards on the drive.

12:58 p.m. — The Titans finally hit a big play, with Ryan Tannehill hitting Treylon Burks on a bomb down the left side. It goes for 70 yards, and he's tackled at the 5. Derrick Henry gains four yards on first down, and then scores a touchdown on the second play from one yard out. The PAT is good and it's now Chargers 11, Titans 7.

12:55 p.m. — Chargers go for it on fourth down, and Justin Herbert hits Keenan Allen in the left corner of the end zone after a scramble. Two penalties on the Titans, both declined. Yards enforced on the try, so the Chargers go for two and get it with a pass from Herbert to tackle-eligible Trey Pipkins to lead 11-0.

12:49 p.m. — The Chargers barely miss a touchdown on third-and-4 with an out route to Joshua Palmer in the end zone. It was called incomplete, but coach Brandon Staley challenged the call. It stands.

12:40 p.m. — The boo birds are officially out here at Nissan Stadium after another sack. This time Ryan Tannehill goes down at the 3-yard line, the third sack of the game. He needs to throw that one away. He had time to do that instead of losing 13 yards. Ryan Stonehouse with a 63-yard punt.

12:34 p.m. — The first quarter ends with the Chargers at midfield on second down. The score is 3-0 Chargers, and the Titans had just 20 yards of total offense in the quarter. The Chargers open the second quarter with a couple of passes but can't convert. They punt, with Titan Arden Key running on the field late. First-and-10 at the 15, with Dillon Radunz in at left guard.

12:29 p.m. — The Titans go three-and-out, with the left side of the line really struggling to protect Ryan Tannehill. Joey Bosa gets the sack, abusing left tackle Andre Dillard. Xavier Newman, starting at guard, really struggling, too.

12:25 p.m. — The Chargers can't get into the end zone, with the drive stalling at the 9-yard line. They settle for a 27-yard field goal from Cameron Dicker and it's 3-0 Chargers.

12:13 p.m. — Really strange decision there by the Titans. They run it on third-and-5, and then go for it on fourth down and Tannehill gets sacked. Chargers ball at the Titans' 48. So disagree with that. For a struggling offense, you've got to go for it on third down.

12:07 p.m. — The Titans get a quick first down, thanks to a 7-yard pass from Ryan Tannehill to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and a 5-yard run by Derrick Henry.

12:01 p.m. CT —  The Titans win the toss and defer. Titans in white jerseys, with dark blue pants. Chargers in powder blue jerseys, with white pants. Chargers go three-and-out, with Denico Autry getting a sack on third down.

11:55 a.m. CT — It's simply a beautiful day for football, folks. Game time temperature is 73 degrees and the sun is out now. This is what a mid-September day in Nashville should be like.

11:50 a.m. CT — The Titans are on the field, and ready to go. The defensive starters were announced. No one to boo, I suppose.

11:40 a.m. CT — Xavier Newman getting first-team reps at left guard in warmups. Rookie Peter Skoronski, who was really good in his debut last week in New Orleans, is out with an illness.

11:30 a.m. CT — The Chargers are still 2.5-point favorites less than an hour from kickoff, and the over/under is still 4.5. The line opened at 3.5 points, so the loss of running back Austin Ekeler is probably responsible for that. Here's the history of both teams vs. the point spread, both in the early going this year, and in 2022. There's lots of good knowledge. CLICK HERE

11:20 a.m. CT — Today's game is on CBS and televised throughout the South and in the Los Angeles area. Here's how to watch and stream the game, plus a good history on the rivalry and bios of the coaches and more. CLICK HERE

11:10 a.m. CT — Both teams are 0-1 heading into this Week 1 matchup, so it's a bit of an urgent situation for both teams. Somewhat amazingly, there's only two other games this weekend between 0-1 teams. That's the AFC South battle between Indianapolis and Houston, and the matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants.

11:05 a.m. CT — It's raining a bit here at Nissan Stadium, but it's just supposed to be a quick shower. The forecast is for it to be all dry during the game.

10:50 a.m. CT — Here are the Chargers' inactives: Linebackers Chris Rumph II, Daiyan Henley and Eric Kendricks, safety AJ Finley, running back Austin Ekeler, offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes and defensive lineman Christopher Hinton

10:30 a.m. CT — Injuries will play a big part in this game.  The Chargers are without star running back Austin Ekeler, and the Titans are without left guard Peter Skoronski, cornerback Kristian Fulton and satefy Amani Hooker. Tennessee's other inactives are (third) quarterback Will Levis, wide receiver Colton Dowell and linebackers Caleb Murphy and Trevis Gipson.
