NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans played their one and only preseason home football game at Nissan Stadium on Friday, against the New England Patriots on a hot and steamy night where the game-time temperature was 92 degrees with a heat index of 102.
Veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill started for the Titans, but he just handed off three times and didn't throw any passes in his one series. Second-year quarterback Malik Willis played the rest of the game. Rookie quarterback Will Levis sat out his second straight game with an apparent thigh injury.
Running back Julius Chestnut had another big day for the Titans. He scored their first touchdown, making a 12-yard reception on a nice pass in the left flat from Willis.
Willis threw another touchdown pass later, leading the Titans to a 23-7 victory.
